If you are a cricketer living outside Australia and you are looking to play tournaments here, we would love to hear from you.
Track record
Junior players from India and from Canada have trained at our centre and played matches in the local league. A group of around twenty players from New Zealand trained at our facility and played a tournament against a Melbourne school team.
Those arrangements were made with parents and with schools, and they worked.
To be confirmed Schools and players are not named until they have given permission.
The Victorian Elite Cricket League runs turf T20 competitions in Melbourne — a tournament each December and again from March, alongside junior competitions through the season. Matches are played on turf, with appointed officials, scoring and statistics.
Behind the league sit the Elite Cricket Academy centres at Hoppers Crossing and Pakenham, where visiting players train.
We have established contacts in Australia and India, and we are building the relationships that let players move in both directions.
Two ways we host visiting players
Offer one
You train with our coaching panel at Hoppers Crossing or Pakenham, and where the timing and the standard fit, we work to get you match cricket in the local league. Arrangements are made with your parents directly, and we will be straight with you about what a given age group and time of year actually allows.
Offer two
A touring squad trains at our facility and plays fixtures against Melbourne school and club sides. Your own coaches and staff travel with the group and remain responsible for it; we provide the facility, the coaching, the fixtures and the local arrangements.
Every arrangement is made with parents or guardians from the outset — that is how the previous visits worked and it is not negotiable.
We will want to speak to a parent before anything is planned, and supervision, accommodation and duty of care are settled in writing before travel.
